Staking & Training

A commenter had asked me to post my staking for each of the services so here it is;

Steve Lewis Hamilton - £25 a point. Will bet to maximum of 2 points so max bet of £50 on any tips as my stats still show that following his points doesn't generate additional profit. Only exception would be for e/w doubles.

Equine / Equine Turnover - they now stake to £'s and I currently play 20% of their recommended stake - so a £200 bet is only £40 for me. Lowers the potential for this service but it's what i'm comfortable with and I can't see any bookie accepting £200 bets for long before restricting your account - not sure how anyone manages it.

Northern Monkey - £10 per point - currently on trial stakes but service is going well.

Football Elite - £25 per point.

4PA - £20 per point (and I throw on a few quid on the basic system bets that aren't acct bets)

Systematic - £15 per point

Mr Gekko - £35 per point.

Hope that helps....

My two week training is nearly over so should get my betting back to normal soon - I've missed a few bets and a few winners but not been as bad as I feared and still profit seems to be ticking over nicely.

I'm catching up with my log so will be back up to speed for end of May review.

Back in Business

Things will never be the same again... and while I'm getting far less sleep, I have far less time!!

I have managed to keep betting over the last 10 days - the beauty of mobile betting, despite my 3G reception continuing to play up on Orange. I haven't however been able to update my stats although it does feel that the last few weeks have been good on the betting front.

Changes at home have been complemented with changes at work and I started a new job today - it will mean for the next couple of weeks I'm going to have to accept that I will miss some bets as it will be impossible for me to place some in time - this is the reality of maintaining a full time job while trying to earn an additional income. From the beginning of June I'll be working from home so things will settle down again.

Couple of changes to my portfolio which I'd hinted at in my last posts -

* I've not renewed my TheNagman subscription. Decided that it's not a service for me - despite headline figures showing substantial profit and I've been able to achieve prices of 91% of tipped I feel like I'm just constantly treading water and I wasn't able to make this service work. Subs of £849 for the year are too much for me to continue for another year. Want to do a review of the service and see where things went wrong and will get to this as soon as i can.

* I've stopped betting on Roger Green Racing. I'd carefully considered this as my subs are up in August 2011 but after the poor run up to me stopping made me decide enough was enough. Briefly looking at the results since I stopped betting suggests the rot has continued and despite a couple of winners I reckon the service is down considerably in May as well - I will update my review of the service as soon as I can.

Feel much better with my streamlined portfolio - I'm not looking to subscribe to anyone new at the moment either.

Postings

Sorry not updated things for a while. A very early package arrived just after midnight on Friday morning after a worrying couple of days.

Mum and Baby doing well now though.

Will be back posting as soon as I can!

A great day... by chance

What would've been a good day turned into a great day by chance. I was out and about for most of the day which means I was relying on my mobile to place most of my bets - it's tough at the best of times but when you're with people it's difficult to get the bets on by being distracted by the phone.

I knew I was going to be late in placing some of the bets so I got what I could on and left the rest until about 2pm when I headed home. Unfortunately I was delayed so had to stay on the mobile and the Orange data network wasn't playing ball at all so after half an hour of frustration had to give up getting on for about half my bets... usually this means they all romp home... but today was a different story and every bet I missed lost so I saved myself over £100!!

So finally a bit of luck! Isn't it terrible that we rely on that to help make us profit - but you need breaks sometimes and I got one today!

Systematic Betting and Equine Investments both had good days today, with or without missing bets, so a healthy profit on the day.

Haven't sorted my Equine staking yet as they've moved to £staking rather than point staking and I don't bet the same amount as they recommend as I can't afford to and I know my accounts would get restricted very quickly - case and point being Stan James today who seemed to have got wise to me after having an account for only a month and restricted a 10/1 shot from Systematic to only £10.50!! It went on to win of course... so I will see if they restrict me more tomorrow. I've withdrawn nothing from that account either and have £200 sitting in it and they still restrict!! Unbelievable...

Back to work tomorrow unfortunately...

April Update

Well the month finally comes to a close with two winning days but nowhere near enough to push me back into positive territory.

I'll give you a full update in the next few days but a short summary below;

Good month for;

* Steve Lewis Hamilton - looks like +24points on the month
* Equine mentions/turnover - haven't got used to the new staking yet but good profit.
* Northern Monkey - I'm on trial stakes with this service but another profitable month.

Bad month for;

* Systematic Betting - 34 points down - worst month since I joined. Good day today though, nowhere near enough.
* The Nagman - Another "treading water" month that was going well and fell away.

Awful month for;

* Roger Green Racing - 3 wins out of 52 bets, 60 points down. Need I say more?
* Mr Gekko - maybe should've pulled up the drawbridge at the end of March - hemorrhaged cash this month. Very disappointing

Others;

- Football Elite / 4PA just treaded water in April - nothing to write home about which is disappointing.
- Personal bets - did well this month - had 2nd and 3rd in the 2000 guineas today - wish I'd popped them in a tricast with Frankel....

Think it's time to say goodbye to The Nagman and Roger Green Racing. Will mull things over over the next day or so but Roger Green is losing me serious cash even at minimum stakes, and my Nagman subs are up I'm sure so I'm not paying the cash to renew.

I plan to do an analysis of both services before I make a decision and I'll post my findings on here.
