Dismal

It's been an exceedingly depressing week on the horses this week with another £300+ lost from the account which brings losses for February to well over £700. While in itself is not unusual unfortunately its hard to get up and going to get the bets on.

It would be fair to say I've never been closer to jacking it all in but need to update my figures and make a rational decision rather than an emotional one!!

I dont blame you im in a similar situation i have 8 services which are supposed to be the best all from sbc .. I have been doing this for a year now with nothing to show only losses and headaches from my experience services are good at talking about what they are going to do and never deliver. Im close to giveing it up aswell fed up with the whole so depressing.

Hi, if you have the right betting banks for your service's then there wont be a problem moving forward, as you know sooner or later the results will go in your favour, try to be positive! mindset!! is very important!!!

Feel for you mate. I also run a portfolio and it includes a number of SBC 'favourites' like Chasemaster, Will Lattimore, Othenose and Equine. Stakes - if any - on their selections are being significantly reduced until they return to any semblance of form.

Over the last 12 months I've made a profit out of 'free' tipsters like Gary O Brien from Atheraces. However one of the key components of my portfolio is 'From the Stables'. The subscription costs are minimal in relation to the potential rewards and I would suggest you take up their free trial offer.

Someone called The Betting Guy made a comment the other week defending Steve Lewis Hamilton's Private Service. I am sorry, but I cannot see any way of defending the recent performance of Steve Lewis Hamilton's Private Service. Am I missing something?! The Private Service is over 20 points down this year and hasn't made any profit over the last 8 months. Is that not a long enough period in which to evaluate a service?!

Hi Anon 1 - it certainly is frustrating but I've come out of the weekend feeling more positive (despite another nothing weekend). As long as you're in control and confident with your decisions then you've got to stick with that.

Anon 2 - I do think that in hindsight MGB should have at least had one or two more seasons trialled before going live. There was too much of a rush to get things out and get subscribers hooked. There's no doubt fingers have been burnt and some trust lost. The likelihood of me signing up to anything new are limited. I'm not sure we've been conned though - you can make a decision to stop following tips whenever you want and MGB at least had the decency not to charge for the 2nd season (something that others wouldn't have thought twice of doing!)

Anon 3 - I think you're right but the betting bank isn't all that this is about. It's about cost of services, availability of odds and betting psychology! Thanks for your pep talk!

Anon 4 - thanks for your post and comment. I think there is a really interesting study that should be completed comparing cost of service to performance - actually do SBC not do something like that in their profit report.

Anon 5 - thanks! And to you!

Anon 6 - I think that a service like SLH needs to be monitored over 2 years to be honest. It is well renowned to be a service with long lean times and short bursts of massive profit and you should go in with your eyes open. Unfortunately for us the long lean time has been exceptionally long. I don't think SLH has coped at all well with the change to whip rules.
